what the utah wedding community needed… and why

Hello friends.  We’re Aubrey and Andrea- and we have a job to do.

Both of us have been a part of the Utah wedding community for years. We have had a myriad of experiences with other bridal publications, and in full, open honesty, we have felt in the last 14 or so months that there is a lack- a void to be filled. We recognize the words are bold to say, but we believe strongly in honesty and transparency. And we feel that in order for you to join us, you deserve to know where we are coming from.

For about a year, we both felt distinctly aware of this void, and we discussed it often. Both with each other, as well as with other players in the game, thinking our role would be to urge them to be better. After some time, seeing the same issues re-occur, we felt less as though our position was to fix someone else’s shortcomings– and instead to rise to the occasion ourselves. And now, about a year after travelling down this road, we are at the destination which we did not fully anticipate reaching. We are here before you, presenting Salt & Veil. 

We are coming from a place of love for our community, a passion for presenting our brides with the best options, and a strong desire for creating trusting, supportive, respectful ties with our vendors. As such, we promise to do well by you. We see the work the vendors do, and we insist they receive not only their applause, but their credit for it. The vendors we back, we do so because we truly believe in them- not because they pay us to.

We want to present you with multiple avenues to find us- and by finding us, finding an incredible network of vendors. Through our Instagram, podcast, and blog, we will present these connections and important information. Through our events, we will continue to build and intertwine this community. And through our plans for print, we will bring you something tangible to hold, to share, and to feel proud of.

We are so happy to be truly, solidly, finally here. We are so immensely thankful for you to be truly, solidly, finally here with us. We know there are big things in store. We know this work is beloved, and important. We are both determined and thrilled for it to become what we know it will be.
